Welcome sibling number 3 Little Miss Elise. Congratulations to Mark and Hope for their third beautiful child. This girl was one little chunker. She weighed in at 8lbs but had the fullest little cheeks. She was only 3 days old and was aware of everything as if she was a month old.

headbands. We start with little Miss Aubree. She was only 5lbs and had the longest legs.

This brings me to tears knowing my baby is 5 and started Kindergarten. I'm a little behind on his pictures since his birthday was in May. The problem is living in Louisiana heat doing outdoor pictures in May is not going to happen with a sweaty little boy. We did a quick photoshoot and my sweetpea!!

I've been extremely busy and so much has been going on in our life. God is leading us to a different direction and we are patiently waiting for his plan. In the meantime I have had two newborn boys both due on the same date but born a week apart.

It's been awhile but my personal life has been quite busy. My husband and I are training for the Jazz Half Marathon in New Orleans and the training has taken much of my time. Due to the hard training I have slipt away from my photography. But I'm back with a beautiful maternity shoot of the Bates family. They will be expecting a boy in September. Can't wait to photograph their baby boy!!

I am so excited to be the photographer for 5-6-7-8 Dance Academy. I got me several new toys and needed to play. I am really liking the look thanks to Michelle Misner for all her help. I am such a bad mom. I am just now getting to do my sons 4 year old pictures. This summer has been non stop. His birthday was in May. I bought me some spiderlites so I had to test them out. This gave me a reason to get his pictures done. Also a bribe to the movies worked as well.

My Soon To Be Birthday Girl

Another year has just gone by before you even realize it. Now my daughter is turning 8 and it's her time to celebrate. I can't get over how fast she has grown. I remember just yesterday those sweet blue eyes and big cheeks being born. She is my little angle and I thank God every day for the blessings he has given both my husband and I for our two children. May God watch over and bless them everyday. Her birthday isn't until February but I had the time to take them a little early.

I am so excited to have the pleasure to photograph my family on my mothers side. We always had a family tradition to go to my grandmothers house after Christmas. Now that we are all grown with kids, job, boyfriends, school, etc.. it's very hard to have everyone together. This was a very special moment and I am just blessed to have it photographed to keep forever. Especially to get an image of my mother and father together. This is a moment to always remember!! This is my sister in law. She was so wonderful to let me take some pictures of her for my promotion of my new senior coffee table books. I am really getting all my marketing things together and ready to get this business rolling!! I have learned so much in less than a year and am so thankful to God for letting me find my talent. We have been a bit bored since hurricane Gustav. There is not much open around here for the kids to do right now. Things seem to finally get back to normal with gas and all. And now we have to watch for IKE. Having no power for a while really makes you realize and appreciate the things we have. Anyway my daughter felt like being sassy so we had fun with the camera. My son finally let me do a mini session of him. I bought me a stronger flash for my Westcott. Love Love the difference it makes!!! I am a catchlight fanatic so I love them big!! I had to do much bribing and let him play in the water hose outside Lol! His favorite thing to do!! When he was done he was done!! Sleepy little man and all!

I had too much fun taking KK out to the park. She was so good. A Huge Huge thanks to my other sister Carrie for all the help she does for my photography. Okay so this is a huge huge load of pictures but I loved them all. Even if they are my neice I still had a hard time choosing faves.
KK just loves lipstick. I love the way she says it too. (ippick) She turns 3 in Sept. and boy Amy you are going to have your hands full when this little cutie gets older. Ugghh this blog always cuts my images off on the right side.

For those that wonder why I watermark it is to protect my images. Believe it or not there are many out there that steal images and claim their own.

I am so excited I finally found a chair for photography. I found it on the craigslist for only $60. So as soon as I got it home I had a tad bit of light left and threw my daughter in the chair lol!!
I hate that you can't see the whole chair here but really it was that quick of a picture. Also it would have cut those cute tootsies off. LOl after I wrote this I noticed the blog cut them off anyway! ugghhh

We had a trip to the state park today just for me to do pictures. It was so hot outside the kids were really such a trooper. This is my last week for vacation until next year. I so have to share this! I am so excited! My son came up to me and said this " mommy if we go outside I be your model." LOL!!! It was the cutest ever!! So of course I took him up on that offer. He never sits still for two seconds for me to take pictures. There aren't any smiles but hey who cares he sat still!!

I am really learning how to use manual mode with my camera. Even using custom white balance. I don't have anyone to explain how it really makes a difference. My husband laughs and says " yes white balance" gives me high five LOL!! Minor adjustments were made in photoshop that took 2 minutes on this image.

I am so excited I got a new toy. A Westcott speedlight softbox. And this was my first try with it. I am just loving the catchlights it creates. What it does is act like an imitation for natural window light. The best thing about the westcott is you use your speedlight so no expensive lights to buy.

Little Red Truck

The heat her is just unreal. Louisiana is so hot and humid in Summer time. We just got us an above ground pool and am loving it!! We are finally able to enjoy being outdoors. I am also excited because I finally ordered a light meter! I am so excited to finally get my exposures perfect straight out of the camera. (hopefully) It should arrive Thursday and I will post some pictures from it then. But for now here are some I played with this weekend. I call the first one his signature look. I told him there were bugs on my camera and I got this look. See he is just fascinated with bugs and this way I atleast got eye contact LOL!!!

These are both my niece. This was my first newborn session. She slept though pretty much the whole session. The baby has to wear a body brace so the newborn pictures were a bit limited.

My sister had her baby Ashlynn she was 6lbs 4oz and just so beautiful. She has been in NICU she was four weeks early. She has a dislocated hip so she will be coming home in a brace. Keep her in your prayers.

I am asking for all your prayers. My grandmother is not doing well. She has an irregular heart beat and one of her lungs has failed due to fluid buildup. She is my life and I know God will take care of her and has a plan. But please just pray for her well being and pain free. Thank you!

I got a new toy SB-600 with the Gary Fong diffuser. It is so awesome I love that diffuser. So I had the flash and diffuser pointed up to my low white ceiling and caught some magic catchlights.

I know I haven't posted in awhile. I am so excited to announce that April 22 I will be attending an online workshop by Detra http://thelightworkshop.wordpress.com/. I took some pictures of the kids trying to use backlight in the first image. I just can't wait to learn more!!

I had so much fun testing out my new reflector. These are some pictures of my sister in law Nichelle. She was just perfect in front of the camera. I truely believe she has the ability to pursue her modeling. She is so gorgeous. I had the pleasure of being the photographer. Thanks again for my sister Carrie! She was such a HUGE help!!

I had such a great pleasure to photograph the Plogar family. Porter was such a cutie and made my work so much fun. I also not only did a family photo but a maternity one as well. So I am starting to get a big jump on my business. I am so excited that I have found this awesome passion and that I can now share this passion with others. I have met some wonderful people whom have helped me out in my process. Mandey, Mikel and Jennifer I give a HUGE thanks to you all. Mandey and Mikel have helped me to understand photography and take it to the next level. Mandey has also created my beautiful watermark. Jennifer created my post cards and business cards. They are so pretty!! I love that vintage feel of them. I am in the process of working on my website but can't finish until my portfolio is completed.

A little about my self. I am 28 and married to a wonderful man named Jack. We have two children ages 6 & 2. It all started when I wanted to have better pictures taken of my children's life. They are growing up so fast and I want those memories to last forever. I bought my first SLR camera and fell in LOVE with photography. I have learned and progressed so much in such a short amount of time. I don't only just photograph images but spend hours post processing them to get that perfect image. When you put your trust in me I promise to give you my best.
